Velija Potluck Dinner

You’re invited to a Christmas Velija Potluck Dinner, hosted by the Cleveland Chapter of the Carpatho-Rusyn Society.

It is our hope to have as many authentic Rusyn dishes as possible to sample. Please bring your favorite Rusyn/Slavic Christmas dish to share. The chapter will be providing the main dish (fish)for the meal. Water, coffee and for the kids fruit drink will be included. Pop will be available for purchase. 

Pre-purchased tickets are $TBA, plus a dish to share (appetizer, side, or dessert). Children under 10 are free.

Eastern European Congress Of Ohio

The month of April is designated as “Eastern European Month.” The people of Ohio are called upon to observe this month with appropriate educational opportunities, ceremonies, events and activities. The EECOH sponsors and hosts the annual Eastern European Month Dinner Celebrations throughout Ohio during April.

Simply Slavic Heritage Festival

Location: Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre

Keeping with its mission, the event showcases the rich traditions of the Mahoning Valley’s Slavic culture by celebrating the food, music, dance and customs of the various Slavic ethnicities represented here. The event accomplishes this by featuring live music, folk dance performances, homemade food, educational exhibits and ethnic vendors.

One World Day

Sunday, August 30th

Location: Cleveland Cultural Gardens

One World Day showcases nearly 50 diverse ethnic groups in the Cultural Gardens through music, dance, storytelling and much, much more.

It’s the only day of the year that MLK, Jr. Blvd and East Blvd along the Cleveland Cultural Gardens are closed to traffic so the public can explore the Garden leisurely.
